Yes! In fact there are plenty of hospitals here to choose from.

Yes those are plush leather couches, but I'm not sure if you can see the wood flooring or the fresh flower arrangement very well. There's also a ginormous flat-screen TV on the wall that's just out of the frame of the picture.Here is the Hospital.
No, I didn't get this pic from some website in Oregon (looks like Oregon or Washington state to us)...that's where we plan to have Isaac!And this is the lovely Dr. Chow. She went to school in the UK and seems very capable of helping us deliver Isaac.
Will Isaac be an American citizen?Yes. There is an American Embassy here and we will apply for his passport as soon as we can after he is born. Although, as it stands, because Isaac will be born on foreign soil he won't be able to run for President of the United States.
Will he be Asian?
(no, but we’ll try for the scholarship anyway!) We would seriously love it if he came out with cute slanted eyes and a gray bottom...but we have a feeling he's gonna be a very white/caucasian looking kid.
Are there any weird cultural customs you have to abide by?
Our local friends have a rule about mother and baby not being able to leave the house for at least 40 days after its born... but some of that is rooted in superstition (about spirits finding and attacking the baby and mother in some way, etc) and just plain ol' tradition. We'll be able to take Isaac out sooner if we want... they won't hold us to the 'rules' because we're foreigners anyway.
Will he speak English?
HA. Yes. Because we speak English in our home and we'll be the ones doing most of the talking to him.
Will he speak Bahasa?
Hopefully! Most of our best friends here speak Bahasa and while hanging out with them we'll be sure and ask them to speak to him using Bahasa. Kakak has already vowed to make sure he understands Bahasa.
Will he speak Mandarin or Tamil? (Mandarin is the main Chinese language in the world and Tamil is the Indian dialect spoken here)
Maybe. Most of our friends speak Bahasa but there are LOTS of Chinese and Indian people here as well...maybe we'll put him in a Chinese Daycare or something!
Is anyone going to be there with you guys when you give birth?
None of our family will be here for the actual birth (plane tickets are expensive and babies don't really care about flight schedules!) but our co-workers are here to give their love and support. Our boss's wife has given birth to 2 of her children here, so she's a great resource. So no worries, we don't feel neglected!
When is Family coming?
Anthony's mom is coming in March and Sharon's family (dad, mom, sis, bro-in-law, nieces and nephew) will be coming in April. We're so excited so much of our family gets to come see Isaac while he's so new!
How did you choose the name "Isaac Joseph"?
I (Sharon) have loved the name Isaac for awhile now (can't remember exactly, but pretty sure even before Anthony and I started dating)... the meaning ("laughter," or "he who laughs," or "the funniest kid you know," etc) is great, and the story of Isaac in the bible has always been a favorite...how just by being born God fulfilled a promise. Joseph is Anthony's middle name (yes he's part Italian) so that was the main reason in using it. It's also a family name on both sides and again the story of Joseph in the bible is so inspiring. Joseph always displayed so much wisdom- wisdom to see God in his circumstances and the integrity to honor God no matter what situation life threw at him. We love his name!
Is baby Isaac going to be as cool as we think he's gonna be?
There's a good possibility he's gonna blow everyone's mind with his awesomeness... we can't wait!

I think this post is awesome! Not to mention my favorite part- the gray bottoms!! Seriously, I had never heard of this until I was working at the nursery in seminary and I changed a babies diaper- I thought, "Oh my WORD!" I called in the director immediately who shared with me the information regarding mongolian spots. Funny thing, all three of mine have had them! ha!! At least when they came out with them, I wasn't sent into cardiac arrest! And yes, I totally agree- Isaac is going to blow us away with his "awesomeness!" How could he not?!!
P.S. Leather couches in the doctor's office? It's nicer than anyone I've ever been too! Good for you!!
