Happy Chinese New Year!

Isaac's school had a Chinese New Year's party today (the 14th) and it was a lot of fun! Definitely better than any Valentine's Day party I ever had at my school growing up (though wasn't it fun to get Care Bear valentines with candy attached?)

Isaac got to dress up in a Cheong Sam, the traditional Chinese New Year costume. It came with a hat too, but lets just say he has "too many brains" to fit into a 3 year old sized hat. Ok? All of the children who wore cheong sam's got to parade their outfits in a fashion show...with prizes for the best and everything.
They sang songs and even had a lion dance! The Lion Dance today was just a couple of the directors from another of the preschool's branches while Ms. Wendy from Isaac's school beat the drum...but it was definitely fun enough to entertain preschoolers! ...for a "professional" lion dance, click here. We don't get to hang around his school much but after today I'm still convinced we found the best preschool on the whole island. The woman in "pink-purple," Mrs. Joyce, is the principal of his school. She works very hard (so do the other teachers) and is so encouraging and loving yet firm and expects the best of her students. You'll see in the video below that she doesn't stop the whole time!  Isaac is thriving in that kind of environment and we couldn't be happier.
Watch the video and see Isaac having a blast!

So, So, So, So, SO fun! I love hearing little kid squeals and screams. :) It also made me smile that Isaac was instructed to blow kisses during the fashion show, while the boy after him did some kind of "martial arts" pose. American heartthrob, that's all I'm sayin'. ;)

This looks like so much fun! I don't think his little hat would have stayed on with all that activity anyway! Do you know if one of his classmates is a favorite playmate? Hope you had a smooth trip this weekend. Talk to you soon!
